Our CCE PTA belongs to the National PTA organization, the Texas State PTA organization, and the Round Rock Independent School District Council of PTAs.

The National PTA mission statement and general purposes are listed below.

Mission of the Parent Teacher Association

To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Purposes of the Parent Teacher Association

To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
To raise the standards of home life.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Our local PTA belongs also to the Round Rock Independent School District Council of PTAs, whose new website is rrcouncilofptas.txpta.org.

At the beginning of the school year, all CCE PTA members are given the common ID and password to access the password-protected areas of the National PTA website, www.pta.org, and the Texas PTA website, www.txpta.org. The ID and password are written in the back of the PTA membership card.

As stated in the current CCE PTA Bylaws (see Article 7, Section 5), half of the $6 annual membership fee for each member remains at our local PTA. The portion that goes to the state organization is $1.25. In addition, $1.75 of each member’s dues goes to the National PTA to support nationwide efforts and programs that benefit more than 26,000 PTAs across the country. These fees help National PTA to:

conduct important research on education, health and safety issues;
develop resources for parents and educators;
offer professional development training for PTA members and leaders.
