Art in the Classroom
This is a program designed to bring art history and art appreciation to the students. Volunteers present short, age-appropriate lessons to classes during their regular Art period. These presentations include information about a given artist, style, or period of art, which depending on length of presentation is followed by a hands-on activity related to the presented subject. Time commitment - 1 hour meeting with the AITC coordinator prior to the week of presentations to learn the subject matter. At that time, volunteers sign up to do their presentations for one or more of the Art classes. Many volunteers partner up to do the presentations and some volunteers sign up to present during their own child’s class. Art in the Classroom has enriched the lives of many CCE students during the Fall or Spring semesters; depending on subject and budget sometimes both. No art background is necessary. Everybody is welcome to volunteer, especially those that like to have fun and learn along the way!
