Denim Drive: The denim drive will begin on September 22 and will end on October 23. During this time, we will be collecting new and gently used denim for RRISD school children between the ages of 3 to 18 years old. All donations will be given to RRISD Clothes Closet which serves the indigent of RRISD. As you are cleaning out closets for the new school year, please save the denim clothing (jeans, jackets, shirts and skirts) you no longer need. Please place your washed denim in the designated bin in the hall by the office. If you have any questions, please contact Beth Unite at DeminDrive@CanyonCreekPTA.com.
Clothes Closet:  A district wide effort to provide donated clothes to families of school-aged children in RRISD who are in need of these items. Canyon Creek is responsible for sending volunteers the 1st Thursday of each month. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Monica von Waaden at ClothesCloset@CanyonCreekPTA.com.
Brown Santa: This program provides toys to less fortunate families with children for the Christmas Holiday. Thank you for your donations. If you have any questions, please contact Monica vonWaaden at BrownSanta@CanyonCreekPTA.com.
Holiday Food Drive: In November we have the annual canned food drive for the Hill Country Ministries Food Pantry, which provides food for families who would otherwise not be able to have a nice meal for the Holidays. If you have any questions, please contact Paige Poolishook at FoodDrive@CanyonCreekPTA.com.
Back to School Fling: This event is where the kids meet their teachers; kids sign up for after school organizations and parents learn about PTA related volunteering opportunities.
School Supply Sales: Starts in previous school term to have returning students sign up for supplies, plus volunteer needs to be available around Kindergarten Round-up and the delivery of School Supplies just before the school year starts. Person must be extremely organized.
Green Team: Green Team takes care of the “green” areas surrounding Canyon Creek Elementary School. This includes the butterfly garden, the raised flowerbeds in front of the school, as well as maintaining and improving upon all of the natural surroundings. The Green Team is getting organized and making plans to work on the CCE grounds. Please contact the Green Team Coordinators, Jenny Williams and Kelley Worden at GreenTeam@CanyonCreekPTA.com, to volunteer and get a little dirty. Green Thumb definitely NOT required!
Pay It Forward: The Pay It Forward campaign has been designed to provide students an opportunity to better understand and appreciate the importance of community/volunteer service.

The goal of the Pay It Forward campaign is to allow students hands-on experience in making a significant difference in the lives of others. Through books, videos, class projects and parent guest speakers, the students will be exposed to many different ways we can all choose to serve others using our unique and creative talents.

The March of Dimes “March for Change” campaign will serve as the main example of how Canyon Creek students can “Pay it Forward” by collecting spare change that will be used to help fund the fight against premature birth and ensure a healthy start for all babies. If you have any questions, please contact Kelli Kelley at PayItForward@CanyonCreekPTA.com .
